Whey protein is a natural, low lactose protein made from milk. It contains the highest concentrations of branched chain amino acids (BCAA's) and Biological Value of all proteins. Aside from its benefits for fat loss, lean muscle gains, and appetite control, supplementation of whey protein benefits the body's immune system and greatly enhances hormonal and cellular responses. Whey protein typically comes in three major forms: concentrate, isolate, and hydrolysate. Concentrates are generally 29%–89% protein by weight and have the most fat, lactose and cholesterol of the three. Isolates are processed to remove the fat and lactose and are generally 90%+ protein by weight. Hydrolysates are whey proteins that are predigested and partially hydrolyzed for the purpose of easier metabolizing. Highly hydrolysed whey may be less allergenic than other forms of whey.
Whether your goal is to build bigger muscles or trim and firm your body, whey protein should be your number one supplement!
Whey protein can be mixed with any liquid, such as milk, water or juice. Take a look at our Easy Protein Selector Chart if you're not sure which protein is right for you!
