Aiya Matcha To Go Sticks Details

Ceremonial grade matcha in single-serving sticks, with no sweetener of any kind. No sifting, no whisk, no bowl — mix straight into hot or cold water. 10 sticks.

This is the unsweetened one. Aiya makes four To Go formats and this is the only one with no sugar and no stevia: just ceremonial grade matcha with soluble corn fibre, which is what lets it dissolve without a whisk. If you want it sweet, the Sweetened To Go uses cane sugar and the Sugar-Free To Go uses stevia.

It also uses ceremonial grade, not culinary — the drinking blend, which matters considerably when there is no sugar to hide behind.

The format solves the real barrier to drinking matcha daily, which is not cost but faff. A proper bowl needs sifting, a bamboo whisk and something to wash up. A stick needs a water bottle.

Aiya has been family-owned since 1888 and is run today by the fifth generation of the Sugita family. They are based in Nishio, in Japan's Aichi prefecture, where matcha has been grown for over 800 years.

Who Aiya Matcha To Go Sticks Is For

This is for people who already drink matcha and want it at a desk, in a car or on a plane without carrying equipment. It suits anyone avoiding added sugar, and anyone who wants the tea to taste of tea.

Cold: add one stick to a 500ml water bottle and shake. Hot: stir one stick into 180–240ml of hot water around 80°C. A hand frother gives you foam if you want it.

Ceremonial grade matcha in 10 single-serving sticks, with no added sweetener. Mixes into hot or cold water without a whisk.

This is the unsweetened one. Sweetened To Go uses cane sugar, Sweetened Roasted To Go uses cane sugar with roasted matcha, and Sugar-Free To Go is sweetened with stevia.
➕ Does it really dissolve without a whisk?
Yes. The soluble corn fibre is what makes that work - it is the difference between this and tipping loose matcha into a bottle.
➕ What grade of matcha is it?
Ceremonial grade, which is the drinking blend.

Benefits of Ingredients

➕ What is the soluble corn fibre for?
It helps the matcha disperse in water without sifting or whisking. It is non-GMO and adds dietary fibre.
➕ Why ceremonial grade in a stick?
Without sugar there is nothing to cover a lesser blend, so the grade shows.
➕ Is there any sugar?
No. This is the unsweetened format.

Sealed sticks at room temperature, away from heat and light.
