Flora Travel Care Probiotic Details

Flora’s Travel Care Probiotic is a clinically proven single strain probiotic that uses Saccharomyces boulardil, a type of nutritional yeast. It was first discovered in 1923 on tropical fruits and is currently the only yeast with the
status of ‘probiotic’. It has been shown to help reduce the incidence of traveller’s diarrhea and antibiotic-associated diarrhea while combating pathogenic “bad” bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium, C. diffi cile and H.pylori. It also has anti-infl ammatory properties and so, based on pilot studies, may lend itself well to IBS and IBD issues. Saccharomyces boulardii is a variation of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae species that persists in the
intestines for longer and is more resistant to stomach acid and bile than many other probiotic strains and prefers human body temperature of 37˚ C1.
