Fem Calm™ is used in herbal medicine as a hormone normalizer to help stabilize menstrual cycle irregularities and to help relieve premenstrual symptoms. It is also used as an adaptogen to help temporarily relieve symptoms of stress (such as mental fatigue and sensation of weakness).

Many women experience hormonal imbalances, which can lead to symptoms that can impact their quality of life. Some of these symptoms include irritability, moodiness, fatigue, insomnia, bloating and hot flashes. These symptoms can affect women of all ages but especially during the transition into menopause and during monthly menstruation. In most cases there is an imbalance in estrogen and progesterone levels along with over use of the adrenal system, which produces our stress hormones. 
 
Fem Calm is a unique formula that addresses both inadequate levels of progesterone and a depleted adrenal system. It provides chasteberry extract which supports progesterone production, adaptogenic herbs which support the adrenal system and select B-vitamins to provide support during PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and menopause. Fem Calm helps relieve some of the mental and emotional changes as well as mild physical symptoms experienced prior to and during the menstrual cycle and in menopause due to hormone fluctuations. 
 
For more complete relief of the physical symptoms associated with menstruation, Fem Calm is best combined with AOR’s Fem Ease for painful periods or with Fem Adapt or Estro Adapt for hot flashes. 

Take 2 AOR Fem Calm capsules once a day with or without food, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. Do not take immediately before bed. Use for a minimum of 3 months to see beneficial effects for menstrual cycle irregularities.

    Helped my emotional issues

    I have been taking Fem Calm everyday for the past two menstrual cycles for my PMS which had been creeping into PMDD territory over the past couple years. Symptoms that I was hoping to alleviate were negative emotions that led to downward spirals. I am convinced yoga was helping me with this, but due to physical limitations, not everyone is able to commit to a regular practice of any sort. Fem Calm helps me significantly, to the point where my moods are stable throughout my cycle. One side effect that I've experienced (I'm assuming due to the Chasteberry) is a complete lack of drive for physical intimacy. Of course there are other external factors to consider, but the historical use of Chasteberry and the name itself makes me pause. It also makes me entertain the idea of an ascetic life, particularly in these times, and whether this herb would help facilitate a monastic dream of mine ha.

    Excellent Product

    My naturopath prescribed this product for me for my PMS symptoms a year ago. I would experience horrible mood swings 14 days prior to my menses! Not anymore! This is a fabulous product that contains an excellent combination for balancing female hormones. If you have read any of Sara Gottfried or Lorna Vanderhauge's books you will see that the ingredients listed in this product contains many of their recommendations! The price at vitamart is the lowest I've seen GREAT value!!!
