A foaming acne-fighting scrub with maximum strength 2% salicylic acid, naturally derived from willow bark. Tough enough for back acne, gentle enough for daily facial cleansing. 227g.
2% is the ceiling for an over-the-counter salicylic acid product, so this is as strong as a non-prescription acne wash gets. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid, which means it is oil-soluble — it penetrates into the pore rather than working only on the surface, which is exactly why it suits blocked pores where a water-soluble acid would not reach.
Alba's formulation keeps working after you rinse, and adds finely ground walnut shell for physical exfoliation alongside the chemical action.
Face and body is the useful part. Most acne washes are sized and priced for the face alone, which makes treating back and shoulders expensive. At 227g this is built for both.
