Elderberry — also known as Sambucus or black elderberry — is one of the most popular botanicals for seasonal immune support, valued for the antioxidant anthocyanins that give the dark berries their colour. People reach for it especially through the colder months, and it comes in more formats than almost any herb: syrups, gummies, capsules, lozenges, and kid-friendly versions. Stocked here and shipped from our Ontario warehouse across Canada.

    Why people take elderberry

Elderberry is a traditional immune-season favourite, rich in antioxidant flavonoids (anthocyanins). People most often turn to it during the colder months as part of a general immune and antioxidant routine, frequently alongside vitamin C and zinc. It's something to keep on hand seasonally rather than a treatment — if you're unwell with persistent or severe symptoms, see a healthcare provider.

    Choosing a format

    • Syrups — the classic form (e.g. Sambucol, Suro, Naka), easy to take by the spoonful; great for families.
    • Gummies — convenient and tasty; see all elderberry gummies.
    • Capsules — standardized, no-sugar option for daily routines.
    • Combination formulas — often paired with zinc lozenges, vitamin C, or echinacea.
    • Kids' versions — many syrups and gummies come in child formulas (check the age on the label).

    Elderberry in Canada

Elderberry supplements sold in Canada carry a Natural Product Number (NPN) from Health Canada and ship from our Ontario warehouse to addresses across Canada.

    A note on elderberry

Use commercially prepared elderberry products as directed — raw or unripe elderberries, and the plant's leaves, bark, and seeds, are toxic and must be cooked, which is why you should never make your own from raw berries. Some gummies and nighttime syrups add melatonin or other actives, so check the label, especially for children, and keep all supplements out of reach of kids. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, have an autoimmune condition, or take immune-affecting medication, check with your healthcare provider first.
