SURO Elderflower Extract Details
Elderflower Extract is traditionally used to help relieve symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections such as colds, coughs and nasal congestion. It is also useful for fevers as a diaphoretic.
Diaphoretic is the word worth understanding. It means the herb promotes perspiration, and that is the traditional Western approach to a fever — not suppressing it, but supporting the body through it by helping it sweat. Elderflower is one of the classic diaphoretic herbs, usually taken hot for that purpose.
Made with fresh elderflowers rather than dried, which is unusual and matters — volatile compounds are lost in drying, and a fresh plant extraction captures more of them.
