NFH Algal DHA SAP Details
Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) have major roles in fetal and newborn neurodevelopment. DHA is actively involved in neuronal development and plasticity, receptor-mediated signaling, changes in membrane fluidity and anti-inflammation by interacting with key receptors. Marine algae are an excellent source of DHA and EPA. Schizochytrium sp. is a genus of marine microalgae that are unicellular eukaryotes comprising approximately 20% DHA (whole dried cell), making it a rich source of this nutritionally important omega-3 fatty acid.
DHA-rich oil from Schizochytrium sp. is a sustainable and nutrient rich vegan alternative to omega-3 fatty acids derived from fish oil. Algal DHA SAP may help support cognitive health and brain function.
Adults: Take 1-2 ml daily or as directed by your health-care practitioner.
