Naka Platinum Cinnamon Essential Oil Details
Naka Platinum Cinnamon Essential Oil is 100% pure cinnamon leaf oil — Cinnamomum verum, undiluted — in a 50ml UV protected bottle. The plant part matters more here than on almost any other oil: this is leaf oil, not bark oil, and the two are different products with different characters. Naka describes the aroma as strong, sweet and spicy, and that scent is why most bottles leave the shelf.
Naka's own copy says cinnamon essential oil is reputed to calm dry skin, effectively alleviate aches, pains and stiffness in the muscles and joints, address acne, rashes and infections, enhance circulation, nourish the skin, slow the look of aging, and revive the skin tone. Those are the maker's words, reproduced once so you can see what is claimed. The directions are aromatherapy use, with careful dilution in a carrier oil for anything else, and the label is explicit that it is for external and aromatic use only.

Who Naka Cinnamon Oil Is For
- People who diffuse seasonally and want a warm, spicy room rather than a fresh or floral one.
- Blenders who need a spice note to sit under citrus, which cinnamon does better than almost anything.
- Anyone who likes a thieves-style blend and wants the cinnamon character at their own strength.
- Shoppers who read panels closely enough to care that the plant part is printed on this one.
Who this product is NOT for: anyone who wants to take cinnamon as a supplement. This is an aromatherapy oil with no oral dose on it — if a swallowed capsule or extract is what you want, Cinnamon Supplements is the right shelf. It is also a poor first bottle, since cinnamon is one of the most assertive oils in any range; Lavender Oil is far more forgiving. And it is not ready to use — for something you can apply without measuring, see Body & Skin Oils.
Vitamart's Take
We stock this because cinnamon is a scent people actively seek out for a few months of the year, and Naka's version is unusually honest about what it is. The panel names the species and the plant part, there is one ingredient in the bottle, it is made in Canada, and the glass blocks UV — more than most cinnamon oils tell you.
The honest trade-off is that leaf oil is not bark oil, and some buyers arrive expecting the hot, candy-sweet smell of a cinnamon stick. Leaf oil is warmer and more clove-like, and if bark character is what you want, this is not that bottle. The second is strength: 50ml of a spice oil used at two or three drops will last years.
How Naka Cinnamon Oil Compares
Cinnamon oils are separated by three things a label may or may not disclose: plant part, purity and bottle volume. This one discloses all three.
- Versus Naka's Thieves blend: Naka Platinum Antibacterial Thieves uses cinnamon bark oil of the same species as one of five oils, at Naka's ratio. This is the leaf oil alone, at your strength.
- Versus 10ml and 15ml bottles: spice oils are usually sold small, which looks inexpensive and empties fast. At 50ml the per-millilitre cost falls.
- Versus cinnamon capsules: Cinnamon Supplements come from the same plant but are a swallowed product with a measured dose.
- Versus other warm Naka oils: Frankincense is resinous and heavier, Cedarwood Atlas drier and woodier.
Cinnamon Leaf Oil and Cinnamon Bark Oil Are Not the Same Oil
One tree, two oils. Distil the inner bark of Cinnamomum verum and you get bark oil, dominated by cinnamaldehyde — the compound behind the hot, sweet smell of a cinnamon stick. Distil the leaves and twigs of the same tree and you get leaf oil, dominated instead by eugenol, the compound that carries clove. Same species, often the same harvest: a different plant part, a different chemistry, a different smell. Leaf oil reads warmer, spicier and a shade more clove-like; bark oil reads sweeter and sharper.
The price gap follows the yield. A tree gives up plenty of leaf each year and only a limited amount of harvestable inner bark, so bark oil costs several times what leaf oil does — which is why a bottle labelled simply "cinnamon oil", with no plant part named, is very often leaf. The two are also not interchangeable on a blending bench: substitute leaf for bark and the result drifts towards clove, and going the other way overshoots the sweetness badly at the same number of drops.
How To Use
For aromatherapy use. For all other uses, carefully dilute with a carrier oil such as jojoba, grapeseed, olive or almond oil prior to use. Please consult an essential oil book or other professional reference source for suggested dilution ratios. For external and aromatic use only. Do not take orally. Dilute with a carrier oil and skin test before topical application. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use this product.
