Holy basil, also commonly known as Tulsi or βThe Incomparable Oneβ has been revered in India for centuries. It is considered to be one of the most sacred plants in the Ayurvedic Tradition. Tulsi leaves were traditionally used for religious, ceremonial and medicinal purposes. This adaptogenic herb is one of the key rejuvenating tonics in Ayurveda. For centuries, sages and yogis have used the herb before meditation in order to calm the mind and encourage a blissful state. Organic Traditions Holy basil tea is a unique blend of three delicious Holy basil varieties: Krishna purple Tulsi leaf, Rama green Tulsi leaf and Vana lemon Tulsi leaf resulting in a refreshingly fragrant basil-citrus flavor. It is a wonderful tea to incorporate into the daily diet with many health promoting benefits.
Boil ½-2 tablespoons of Organic Traditions Holy Basil (Tulsi) Tea Cut in 8-12 oz. of water, depending on how strong you prefer your tea. Add more tea for a more robust flavor.
Enjoy the tea as is or add natural sweetener, lemon or ginger. Grate fresh ginger into the tea for more intensity.
Naturally sweeten the tea with ¼ - ½ teaspoon of Organic Traditions Stevia Powder, 1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Coconut Palm Sugar or 1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Yacon Gold™ Syrup.
Add some Organic Traditions Goji Berries, Longan Berries, Black or White Mulberries or Raisins to add a hint of natural sweetness.
Add 1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Vanilla powder, Organic Traditions Slippery Elm powder, Organic Traditions Gotu Kola powder or Organic Traditions Ashwagandha powder for added benefits.
Cool the tea to create a refreshing iced tea with a squeeze of lemon and ice or use as a base liquid in smoothies. Use the liquid for a healthy hair and scalp rinse or for a mild facial toner.
