What colloidal silver is

Colloidal silver (also sold as silver hydrosol or “silver sol”) is silver particles suspended in liquid, usually measured in ppm (parts per million) — commonly 10 ppm. It comes as liquids and dropper bottles, fine-mist throat and nasal sprays, a first-aid gel, and even hand sanitizer and aloe moisturizers. Some products are intended for the skin or mouth/throat rather than swallowing — always check the individual product's directions.

Note: a couple of products in this collection (Naka ConcenTrace / CompleteTrace) are actually trace mineral drops, not silver.

An important safety note

Health Canada has not approved colloidal silver as an effective treatment for any condition taken by mouth, and major health authorities advise against ingesting it. Taking silver internally — especially regularly or at high concentrations — can cause argyria, a permanent blue-grey discoloration of the skin, and silver can interact with some medications (including certain antibiotics and thyroid medication). Keep it away from children, don't use it as a substitute for medical care, and talk to a healthcare provider before using colloidal silver, particularly internally.
