About North Coast Naturals

North Coast Naturals is a supplement brand built almost entirely around powders. The common thread across the range is sourcing: plant-based and whole-food ingredients where possible, fermentation instead of synthesis for the amino acids, and formulas without artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Several products are certified organic, and much of the range is vegetarian or vegan — though not all of it, since the line also includes whey and collagen.

What the range covers

Four groups, broadly. Whey protein — the 100% Iso Protein is a grass-fed, non-GMO whey isolate. Plant proteins — hemp, sprouted brown rice, cold-pressed pumpkin, a keto-friendly blend and a vegan all-in-one. Aminos — fermented L-glutamine and fermented BCAAs, made by fermentation rather than from animal or synthetic sources. And everyday staples — greens and fibre blends, MCT oil in liquid and powder, hemp seed hearts, and collagen in bovine and marine forms.

Powders, and why that matters

A powder lets you take a meaningful amount of something without swallowing a handful of capsules — which is the practical reason protein, greens, glutamine and MCT are almost always sold this way. It also means the taste and mixability matter more than they would in a capsule, and that serving size is yours to control. Most of these mix into water, milk or a smoothie; the MCT cooking oil is meant for food rather than a shaker.

Hemp seed hearts and hemp protein

Two different things from the same seed. Hemp seed hearts are the shelled inner seed, eaten as a food — they carry protein, fibre and both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Hemp protein powder is made after much of the oil is pressed out, which concentrates the protein and fibre. If you want a topping, the hearts; if you want a protein scoop, the powder.
