St. Francis Triphala Tincture Details
St. Francis Triphala is a liquid extract of the classic Ayurvedic "three fruits" formula — amla, bibhitaki and haritaki — made as a certified organic intestinal tincture. It is an intestinal tonic to promote strong digestion that also acts as a supportive tonic for whole body health. Each 1 mL provides 0.3 mL of each fruit extract (1:4, QCE 83 mg each) in distilled water and certified organic alcohol. Unlike most tinctures, it's taken once a day: 4–6 mL (120–180 drops) about 2 hours after the evening meal. Vegan, and available in 50 ml, 100 ml and 250 ml bottles. Made in Canada by St. Francis Herb Farm.

Vitamart's Take
Triphala is one of the cornerstone formulas of Ayurveda, and St. Francis makes it as a certified organic tincture with equal parts amla, bibhitaki and haritaki — 0.3 mL of each per mL, at 1:4 and 83 mg QCE. It's an intestinal tonic to promote strong digestion and a supportive tonic for overall health. The once-daily evening dose is unusually simple for a tincture: 4–6 mL in a little water about two hours after supper. Because the dose is larger than most single herbs, the 100 ml or 250 ml bottle is the practical buy. Skip it if you have diarrhea or are pregnant.
How Triphala Compares
Triphala vs. Canadian Bitters
Canadian Bitters is St. Francis's digestive bitters formula for heartburn, indigestion, constipation, bloating and gas, taken around meals. Triphala is an evening intestinal tonic based on three Ayurvedic fruits.
Triphala vs. Slippery Elm
Slippery Elm is St. Francis's soothing anti-inflammatory tonic for digestion. Triphala is an intestinal tonic built on three Ayurvedic fruits and taken once in the evening.
Tincture vs. triphala tablets or powder
Many triphala products are tablets or powders. The tincture is quick to take in a little water and lets you adjust within the 4–6 mL range.
