It is made in distilled water, organic alcohol and organic vegetable glycerine, with doses on the label from age 2 through adulthood. Vegetarian (contains milk-derived whey). Available in 50 ml, 100 ml and 250 ml bottles. Made in Canada by St. Francis Herb Farm.

Vitamart's Take
This is St. Francis's children's echinacea, and the big advantage is the flavour: anise and vegetable glycerine make it much easier to get into a child than a straight echinacea tincture. It uses two echinacea species for a broader formula, and the label gives clear doses for every age from 2 to adult, so one bottle can serve the whole family. Start it at the first sign of a cold and keep going three times a day.
How St. Francis Echinacea for Kids Compares
Drops vs. alcohol-free syrup
St. Francis Echinacea Plus Kids with Elderberry is an alcohol-free syrup that adds elderberry. These drops are a smaller-dose liquid made with organic alcohol and glycerine.
Echinacea vs. Deep Immune for Kids
St. Francis Deep Immune for Kids is an adaptogenic formula for ongoing immune support. Echinacea for Kids is for when a cold or flu has started.
Echinacea vs. a cough syrup
St. Francis Elderberry Cough Syrup for Kids targets cold and flu symptoms including coughs. Echinacea for Kids focuses on shortening the duration and severity of the cold itself.
What Is Echinacea?
- Echinacea is a North American flowering plant in the daisy family
- This formula uses two species: Echinacea purpurea (herb top and root) and Echinacea angustifolia (root and rhizome)
- Echinacea is one of the best-known herbs for colds and flu
- Anise seed gives the formula a mild liquorice-like flavour that many kids accept
- Because echinacea is in the daisy family, children with daisy-family allergies should avoid it
Recommended Purpose
- Helps to shorten the duration and severity of colds and flu
