About triphala

Triphala is a blend of three dried fruits: amla (also called Indian gooseberry), haritaki and bibhitaki. It comes from Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India.

How triphala is used

In Ayurveda, triphala is used to support digestion and to help relieve occasional constipation.

Forms of triphala

Triphala comes as capsules, caplets, tablets, powder and liquid tinctures. Some bowel formulas combine it with magnesium.

Triphala in Canada

Vitamart ships triphala from Ontario to customers across Canada. Triphala can cause loose stools or stomach cramps, especially at higher amounts. Don't use it if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor if constipation lasts more than a week, or if you have stomach pain, nausea or vomiting.
