These are confectionery. Organic cane syrup is the first ingredient, organic manuka honey the second. They carry no approved health claim, and the reasonable case for them is that if a child is going to have a lollipop, one made from organic syrup and manuka honey with a short ingredient list is a better version of that than most.

The vitamin C comes from ascorbic acid, and the citric acid does double duty as flavour and preservative. Three flavours in the pack — orange, raspberry and grape — all from natural flavour rather than synthetic.

Worth noting these are the one item in the Wedderspoon range made in the United States rather than New Zealand, though the manuka honey in them is still New Zealand sourced.

Unlike the Honey Drops, the Pops contain no propolis, which makes them the option if bee resin is a concern — though they still contain honey.

They contain honey, so they must not be given to infants under 12 months — risk of infant botulism. Lollipops are a choking hazard: children should be seated and supervised while eating them, and they are not suitable for young children. They are largely sugar, which matters for both blood glucose and teeth, particularly in children. Not vegan.
