Naka Platinum Pure Rosehip Oil Details
Naka Platinum Pure Rosehip Oil is 100% pure virgin certified organic rosehip (Rosa canina) oil, cold-pressed and UV protected, in a bonus 60ml bottle (50ml plus 10ml free). Rich in antioxidants, it supports collagen production for firmer, tighter skin and is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, scars and age spots — Naka calls it particularly effective for acne scars and stretch marks.
It is the one oil in Naka's range sold as a facial treatment rather than a general moisturizer. Two or three drops after cleansing is the whole routine, and it also works as a body oil or a nourishing hair and scalp massage. Single ingredient, no fragrance, no carrier added. Made in Canada.

Who This Rosehip Oil Is For
- Anyone working on the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles or age spots who wants one ingredient rather than a formulated serum
- People with acne scars or stretch marks — the two uses Naka singles out
- Skin that rejects heavier oils: rosehip is light and absorbs quickly, so it suits the face in a way castor or avocado oil does not
- Anyone who already takes collagen internally and wants to work on the surface as well
- Shoppers who want certified organic, cold-pressed and UV protected stated on the label rather than assumed
Who this product is NOT for: this is a targeted facial oil, not a body moisturizer you slather on. If you want volume for all-over dry skin or massage, Naka Fractionated Coconut MCT Oil and Naka Pure Jojoba Oil come in 270ml at far less per millilitre. If you want a multi-active step with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid built in, that is Naka's Topical Vitamin C Serum or Collagen+ Face Cream. And it is topical only — nothing here is swallowed.
Vitamart's Take
Rosehip oil has a real reputation among people who use facial oils, and the reason is texture as much as anything else. It is the rare plant oil that behaves like a serum: light, dry-finishing, gone in a minute. That is why it gets used on faces where castor or avocado oil would be unthinkable, and why it has become the default single-ingredient option for scars and marks.
Two honest points. First, the same chemistry that makes it light makes it fragile — rosehip is among the least shelf-stable oils on the shelf, which is why this one is UV protected and the label tells you to store it cool and dry. Buy a size you will finish; the 60ml bonus bottle is sized about right for that. Second, results on scars and marks are gradual and partial by nature. Rosehip is worth a few months of nightly use, not a week of impatience.
How This Rosehip Oil Compares
The comparison that matters is single ingredient versus formulated, and light versus heavy.
- Versus a formulated serum: Naka's Topical Vitamin C Serum carries 20% vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E — and rosehip seed oil among its ingredients. This bottle is the rosehip on its own, no water, no actives.
- Versus heavier Naka oils: castor and avocado oil coat and seal. Rosehip absorbs, which is what makes it usable on the face.
- Versus jojoba: Naka Pure Jojoba Oil is the neutral everyday base with a long shelf life. Rosehip is the targeted one with a shorter one.
Why Is Rosehip Oil Used On The Face?
Most of what distinguishes one plant oil from another is its fatty acid profile — which chains dominate, and how many double bonds those chains carry. Rosehip seed oil sits at the polyunsaturated end: it is dominated by chains with two and three double bonds rather than the saturated and monounsaturated chains that make an oil thick. Double bonds put a bend in the chain, so the molecules stack loosely instead of packing tight. That is the whole reason rosehip pours thin, spreads easily and finishes dry rather than slick.
The same feature is its weakness. A double bond is the point oxygen attacks, so the more of them an oil carries, the faster it oxidises in light and warmth — the chemistry behind both the dry feel and the short shelf life. Cold-pressing matters because heat accelerates that during extraction; the UV-protected bottle and cool, dry storage slow it afterwards. Alongside that profile, Naka describes the oil as rich in antioxidants supporting collagen production, which is the basis for its use on fine lines, scars and age spots.
How To Use
Apply 2 to 3 drops into hands and massage into skin after cleaning. Can be used as a facial serum, a general body oil or a nourishing hair and scalp massage. For freshness, store in a cool, dry place. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. May irritate skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and contact your physician.
