Naka Platinum Pure Fractionated Coconut MCT Oil Details
Naka Platinum Pure Fractionated Coconut MCT Oil is 100% pure medium chain triglycerides (MCT) oil — fractionated coconut oil — in a 270ml bottle, for skin, hair and massage. It is an emollient and moisturizer with a smooth, non-greasy texture, non-comedogenic so it will not clog pores, suitable for all skin types, and it balances hydration across dry and oily areas rather than overloading either.
It is also the oil most people end up using to dilute their essential oils, and for one practical reason: unlike jar coconut oil it stays liquid at room temperature, it has no coconut scent to fight with, and it keeps for a long time. Naka states it verified corn-free, non-irradiated, GMO-free and gluten-free. Made in Canada.

Who This Coconut MCT Oil Is For
- Anyone diluting essential oils and wanting a base that stays liquid, has no scent of its own and does not turn after a few months
- Massage — 270ml of a non-greasy oil with enough slip to work with, at the lowest cost per millilitre of Naka's skin oils
- Combination skin: the label describes it as balancing hydration for both dry and oily areas
- People who have broken out from heavier oils and want something stated non-comedogenic
- Anyone who found jar coconut oil annoying to scoop, melt and spread
Who this product is NOT for: this is a carrier and an everyday moisturizer, not a treatment oil. If you are working on fine lines, scars or age spots, Naka Platinum Pure Rosehip Oil is built around that and this is not. If you want something occlusive that sits on cracked skin overnight, Naka Platinum Castor Oil is far heavier. And if you want the fatty acids coconut oil is known for in cooking, fractionation removes most of them — Coconut Oil covers the edible jars.
Vitamart's Take
We stock this as the workhorse of the skin oil shelf. It is the one bottle in the section with no strong opinion about what it should be used for: no scent, no colour, no texture to get used to, no shelf life anxiety. That makes it boring, and the right answer more often than the interesting oils are — especially if you own essential oils, where the base you choose decides how long a blend lasts.
The trade-off is the point. Fractionation is subtraction: the fraction that makes coconut oil solid, strongly scented and shorter-lived is removed. What is left is stable, light and neutral — and stripped of the components people associate with coconut oil's reputation. If you came looking for virgin coconut oil benefits, wrong bottle. If you came for a carrier and massage oil that does not go off, this is the best-value one we carry.
How This Coconut MCT Oil Compares
Among skin oils, the useful axes are shelf life, feel and scent. Fractionated coconut wins on all three and offers nothing beyond them.
- Versus virgin coconut oil: virgin is solid below roughly 24°C, smells strongly of coconut and is debated on pores. This is liquid, neutral and stated non-comedogenic.
- Versus Naka Pure Jojoba Oil: both are neutral, stable carriers at 270ml. Jojoba sits closer to skin's own sebum and is the better facial choice; this is thinner, slipperier and lower-cost — the better massage oil.
- Versus a pre-diluted essential oil blend: buying the carrier separately lets you set your own dilution, and costs less per millilitre of finished blend.
What Does "Fractionated" Actually Mean?
Coconut oil is a mixture of triglycerides built from fatty acid chains of several different lengths. The long ones — lauric acid above all — are the majority, and they are why a jar of coconut oil is solid at room temperature, smells of coconut and eventually goes off. Fractionation separates the mixture by melting point and keeps only the shorter chains: the medium chain triglycerides, mostly caprylic and capric acid.
Every useful property follows from that one step. Shorter chains stay liquid far below room temperature, so it pours in a cold Canadian house. The aroma compounds travel out with the long-chain fraction, so what remains is odourless and will not compete with a lavender or peppermint oil blended into it. And medium chain triglycerides are fully saturated — no double bonds for oxygen to attack — which is why this has one of the longest shelf lives of any skin oil, and why it is the standard base for a blend you expect to keep for a year.
How To Use

Will not clog pores. Can also be used as a carrier oil for your favourite essential oils. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. For freshness store in a cool, dry and dark place.
