Naka Platinum Organic Black Seed Oil 500mg Details
Naka Platinum Organic Black Seed Oil 500mg delivers 500mg of virgin organic black cumin oil (Nigella sativa, seed) per softgel, QAI Certified Organic, cold-pressed and standardised to 2–3% thymoquinone — the compound the research on black seed is built around. 150 softgels per bottle. Sourced from organic Black Cumin seeds, the cold-pressed oil retains its purity and potency to support immune health, alleviate seasonal allergies and promote overall well-being.
Black Seed Oil is more than just a supplement — it's a connection to an ancient tradition of wellness, revered for thousands of years and often referred to as "the remedy for everything but death." This 100% pure, non-GMO and gluten-free oil is packed with essential fatty acids, including linoleic acid, which help maintain good health. Cold-pressed, solvent-free and made in Canada.

Who Black Seed Oil Is For
- People whose seasonal allergies flare predictably each spring or autumn and who want something to start ahead of the season
- Anyone who wants a thymoquinone figure on the label — 2–3% — rather than an unstandardised oil with no indication of strength
- Shoppers who want certified organic and cold-pressed, since heat and solvent extraction degrade a delicate seed oil
- Those building an immune routine for cold season alongside vitamin C and zinc
- People who cannot stomach black seed oil by the spoonful — the softgel removes the taste entirely
- Buyers who want a bottle big enough for a sustained course at the label's four-a-day dose
Who this product is NOT for: At four softgels a day, 150 softgels is about five weeks — so if you want months of continuous use without reordering, look at Naka Organic Black Seed 1000mg at double the oil per softgel, or the liquid at 2300mg. Anyone avoiding bovine-derived ingredients should note the shell is bovine gelatin, not a plant capsule. And if you want the stronger Mediterranean herb oils rather than allergy and immune support, oregano oil at a stated carvacrol percentage is the more direct tool.
Vitamart's Take
Black seed is an ingredient where the marketing ran well ahead of the labelling, and the honest reason we stock this version is the 2–3% thymoquinone figure. Thymoquinone is the constituent nearly all of the interest in Nigella sativa traces back to, and plenty of black seed products on the Canadian market never tell you how much is present. Add QAI organic certification, cold pressing and solvent-free extraction, and you have a product whose claims you can inspect.
The trade-off is the dose arithmetic. The label calls for two softgels twice daily, which turns a 150-count bottle into roughly a five-week supply — so this is not the format to buy if you want a six-month course sitting in the cupboard. Nor is it cost-free to get the oil in a softgel rather than from a bottle: you are paying for the encapsulation and the gelatin shell. What you get in return is that you will actually take it, which is more than most people manage with a spoon of black seed oil. If the taste genuinely does not bother you, the liquid is the better value.
How Black Seed Oil Compares
Black seed shopping has three real variables: how much oil per dose, whether thymoquinone is stated, and softgel versus liquid.
- Versus Naka Organic Black Seed 1000mg: Double the oil per softgel at 1000mg, so fewer softgels for the same intake. This 500mg version gives you finer control over the daily amount and the 2–3% thymoquinone standardisation.
- Versus the 2300mg liquid: Far more oil per dose and better value per millilitre, at the price of the taste — black seed oil is peppery and bitter, which is exactly why softgels exist.
- Versus Naka Pro Organic Oregano Oil + Black Cumin Seed Oil: Pairs black cumin with oregano oil at 80% carvacrol as an antioxidant for good health — a different and more aggressive proposition than black seed alone.
- Versus conventional black seed oil: Uncertified oil costs less per milligram but tells you nothing about pesticide residue, extraction heat or thymoquinone content. Certified organic and cold-pressed is what that gap buys.
What Is Thymoquinone?
Nigella sativa — black cumin, black seed, kalonji — has been used for thousands of years, but the modern interest in it narrows to one molecule. Thymoquinone is the principal constituent of the seed's volatile oil, a quinone compound, and it is where the antioxidant properties associated with black seed come from. Quinones cycle between oxidised and reduced states, which is the chemistry behind that behaviour, and thymoquinone is the most studied compound in the seed by a wide margin. This is why a stated percentage matters: an oil without one is an unknown quantity, whereas 2–3% tells you what fraction of the 500mg is the constituent you are buying it for.
The rest of the oil is not inert. Black cumin seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, principally linoleic acid, which help maintain good health — and these are the fragile components that heat and chemical solvents damage during extraction. Cold pressing squeezes the oil out mechanically without applied heat, and a solvent-free process means no chemical carrier is used to strip it from the seed. Both choices exist to bring the oil out with the thymoquinone and the fatty acids intact.
