Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol used as a low-glycemic, tooth-friendly sweetener — and, in rinse form, in nasal and oral care. We carry it as pure sweetener for baking and drinks, as Xlear xylitol-based nasal sprays and sinus rinses, and in dental products like floss. Stocked here and shipped from our Ontario warehouse across Canada.

    What xylitol is used for

    • As a sweetener — xylitol looks and tastes like sugar with about 40% fewer calories and a much lower glycemic impact, so it's popular for baking and hot drinks. Compare with other sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit.
    • Nasal & sinus rinses — Xlear nasal sprays and sinus-rinse packets combine saline with xylitol to moisturize and rinse nasal passages.
    • Dental & oral care — xylitol doesn't feed the bacteria that cause cavities, which is why it shows up in floss, gum, and oral care.

    Forms we carry

    • Powder & packets (NOW, XyloSweet) — measure-for-measure sweetening for recipes and drinks.
    • Nasal sprays & sinus rinse (Xlear) — saline-and-xylitol rinses for everyday nasal moisture.
    • Dental floss — xylitol-infused for oral care.

    Xylitol in Canada

    A note on xylitol

Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs (and other pets) — even small amounts can be life-threatening, so keep all xylitol products well out of reach of animals. In people, xylitol is well tolerated as a food, but consuming a lot at once can have a laxative effect or cause gas and bloating until your body adjusts, so it's best to start small.
