Platinum Coral Calcium Details

  • Naturally rich in trace minerals
  • Fortified with Magnesium, Vitamin D & C
  • Helps to build bones and prevent osteoporosis
  • Promotes a more alkaline body
  • Ecologically friendly and free of impurities

Platinum Naturals Coral Calcium is from Okinawa, Japan. This is where people live a long and vibrant life, some as long as 115 years. The water they drink contains minerals found in the natural coral deposits of Okinawa. Platinum Naturals uses only fossilized corals because they are ecologically friendly and do not contain impurities.

A team of researchers went to Okinawa to learn the secret behind their health and longevity. What they discovered was the islanders of Okinawa drank water that is different from most of the water found anywhere else in the world. The island is built up from Sango coral reefs. When rain falls on these islands, it passes through ancient coral deposits and picks up the minerals and other elements from the corals.

Platinum Naturals Okinawan Coral Calcium has many trace minerals that promote good health. The islanders who live the longest and are the healthiest all tend to live by the ocean or the sea where the trace minerals are abundant.

Hard to Get Enough Trace Minerals

Plants can make vitamins but it cannot make minerals; it must get the minerals from the soil. The problem is that our modern farming practices put back primarily potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus. Not much, if any, of the other minerals are added back to the soil. Therefore, the farmed soil becomes depleted of other minerals such as iron, calcium, copper, and zinc. Platinum Naturals Coral Calcium can help you to ensure that you get these essential minerals.

Ecologically Responsible Mining

Platinum Naturals purchase coral calcium only from companies that work closely with the Japanese Government's Ecological Department and are careful not to damage any of the living coral. Platinum Naturals use only fossilized corals and do not use any living or marine corals.

Why is Fossilized Better than Marine Coral Calcium?

  • Marine Coral Calcium Contains Impurities Marine coral calcium is vacuumed from the ocean floor, using large industrial machines. These industrial vacuums suck up sand, marine life, and shells.
  • Fossilized calcium contains very few impurities.
  • Fossilized Coral Calcium Contains More Minerals
  • Fossilized coral calcium contains about 15% more calcium than marine coral calcium due to the impurities contained in marine corals
  • Fossilized Coral Calcium Mining Does Not Destroy Coral Reefs
  • Coral reefs are classified as endangered. Scientists and environmentalists unanimously condemn marine coral harvesting because of its deadly impact on coral life

Platinum Naturals Difference

  • Platinum Naturals only use coral calcium from Okinawa, Japan
  • Added magnesium citrate, vitamin D & C for enhanced absorption
  • Ideal 2:1 Calcium to Magnesium Ratio for best absorption
  • No excipients such as binders, lubricants, and fillers
  • Ecologically Friendly

The Importance of Calcium

Calcium is an important mineral for the optimal functioning of many body systems.  Calcium is a major mineral found in the bones and teeth.  Deficiency of calcium causes bone and joint diseases such as osteomalacia, osteoporosis and osteo-arthritis.  It also leads to poor growth and poor bone density in children.  Calcium also protects the body from heavy metal toxicity because if calcium is deficient lead is absorbed by the body and deposited in the teeth and bones.

The muscles use calcium during contractions and by the nerves for proper transmission of impulses.  If a deficiency of calcium affects the most important muscle, the heart, it can lead to arrhythmias.  Calcium also helps with insomnia and muscle cramps by relaxing the muscles.  Calcium lowers cholesterol, by inhibiting plaque formation, and lowers blood pressure, by ensuring the proper functioning of the arterial muscles.  Calcium is pulled out of the bones when the body becomes too acidic.  This can occur due to the use of some medications, poor diet or when the body is in a state of inflammation, like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.  Calcium is involved at the level of the cell with the structure of the RNA and DNA molecules and the activation of enzymes for the use of fats.  Calcium is commonly recommended by natural health care practitioners for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease, PMS, pregnancy, cancer prevention, nervous disorders, and insomnia.

Synergistic Nutrients

Synergistic Nutrients can make a substantial difference in the uptake of calcium by the bones.  For a variety of different reasons calcium can be difficult to absorb - one of them being that as a mineral, calcium has a negative charge that can repel it from the cells of the body. It’s very important, then, for people concerned about bone health that nutrients be taken along with calcium.  Some of them include: magnesium (in a 2:1 ratio), zinc, silica, manganese, copper, boron, and potassium.  While there are others, these are the ones that can make the biggest difference for bioavailability.  Some of these, like magnesium and zinc, can increase absorption in the gut, while others, like the boron and silica increase the actual uptake of calcium by the bones and its subsequent integration as new bone mass.
