Magnesium is a mineral that is critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and bone mineralization.  It is a required cofactor for an estimated 300 enzymes.  Among the reactions catalyzed by these enzymes are fatty acid synthesis, protein synthesis, and glucose metabolism.  Magnesium status is also important for regulation of calcium balance through its effects on the parathyroid gland.

As a dietary supplement, take two tablet of  NOW Magnesium Citrate 200mg in daily, in divided doses, preferably with meals.

    Good dose size

    I need to take these twice a day to help reduce my fibromyalgia pain. Great dosage amounts for the price. Only downside is the size of the pill.

    Magnesium Citrate size is hard to swallow

    These tablets are hard to swallow. We tried cutting in half, then 4 and still challenging. The problem with cutting them is the sharp edges. Since they are chalky in nature, they stick in the throat even if first taking liquid to ease the flow.

    I intend to crush these and spread the powder in my garden and order something we can live with.

    Admittedly, we are seniors and not new to taking supplements but these are like horse pills. We have a greater concern about choking than the benefits derived. Pass this on to NOW and perhaps they can find an alternative way to produce this valuable product.

    Perfect amount of Magnesium

    This is the perfect amount of bio-available magnesium for my husband and I. Tried other types of magnesium but had nausea issues.
