NOW D-Mannose Powder

I have been buying this product for my elderly mother, who has suffered from numerous bladder infections for about 5 years. She would normally get between 4-5 infections per year. The doctors would always prescribe antibiotics for the infection, which I didn't care for. Once her infection was gone, the doctor would then put her on a low dose of Macrobid, sometimes for a year. But, she would still manage to get another infection.

I heard about D-Mannose from a health food store, and decided to try this route. Since putting her on a daily dose of Now's D-Mannose, she now rarely gets an infection. If she feels she is getting one, then she ups the daily dose, taking several doses/day. This product has been a miracle for her. From what I understand, this sugar prevents the bacteria from adhering to your bladder, reducing the chance of getting an infection. The quality of Now's product is consistent as well, and I will not look for a cheaper version, as I know that this product works.

I developed a UTI from taking antibiotics long term. Obviously I did NOT want to take more antibiotics which wipes out the healthy bacteria leaving you open to more recurrent infections. The NOW d-mannose worked very well for me. It mixes very easily in water and is almost tasteless. It took a couple weeks to completely clear up a very bad infection . I took a tablespoon twice per day (am+pm) . Also, make sure you drink alot of water throughout the day to keep flushing out the bad bacteria and try not to eat any sugar which will feed the infection. I love this product and would definately purchase it again.
