AOR Omega 3 (500mg) Details
Omega is a source of essential fatty acids and helps support cardiovascular and visual health as well as normal brain function.
Omega-3 fatty acids are necessary for maintaining cell structure, fluidity, and cellular health and must be consumed in balance with pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids. One of the most important properties of omega-3 fats is that they are a source of the essential long chain fatty acids EPA and DHA. EPA and DHA have different but very important roles in heart, brain and eye health. EPA is the anti-inflammatory omega-3, known for downregulating the cytokines which contribute to chronic inflammation, heart disease, neurological diseases and joint pain. In clinical studies, supplementing with EPA was also associated with optimal mental health. To maximize EPA and DHA in the body, both fats should be consumed in their ‘converted’ forms, such as in fish or microalgae oil, as the body is inefficient at converting plant based omega-3 fats into the longer chain EPA and DHA.
