1. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and Interac.

2. What is PayPal and/or PayPal eCheck and how do they work?

PayPal is the word’s most popular form of online payment besides credit cards. The advantage of paying with PayPal is you never share your financial details (credit card information) the merchant you are shopping from. Registering for PayPal is fast, free and easy and can be set up with a credit or debit card. PayPal offers completely instant payment when your account is registered using a credit card.

If you wish to register using a debit card unfortunately you will not be able to complete your payment instantly. PayPal offers what they call eCheck, where it resembles that of a electronic cheque taking time to clear. If paying by eCheck you submit your payment and typically the time it takes to clear processing is 10 days. After the 10 days PayPal will have transferred your funds from your account to us and your order will be shipped out immediately.

We do not recommend eCheck unless it is absolutely necessary, as the alternative of Interac Online is a completely safe and secure payment method using your debit card that is instant payment which means your products are shipped much faster!

3. How does Interac Online work?

The Interac Online allows you to pay for our products online directly from your bank account.
When you select the Interac payment option you are redirected to the Interac Online gateway page where you choose your financial institution. Once the transaction is approved in online banking, you will be redirected back to Vitamart.ca.

Interac Online is secure because:

• No sensitive information is shared from your bank
• You finalize all the payment details through your current online banking account at your banks actual website using your usual User ID and password

Interac Online Benefits Summary:

• Privacy: None of your financial details (card number or login information) is shared
• Ease of use: Because your payment is conducted through your existing online banking, you don't need to sign up or create any new passwords or accounts.
• Security: Payment is completed through your financial institution.
• Spending Control: The Interac Online service helps you better manage their finances. You pay immediately using available funds from your bank account, unlike credit where you owe later.

4. Can I pay with Money Orders, Certified Cheques or by Fax?

While in the past we have accepted these methods we have seen the decrease of their use as the security of online purchasing has increased. Now that we offer both PayPal and Interac Online (which is the safest way to pay online) paying by Money order, Cerfitified Cheque or Fax are no longer needed. This this is something that you absolutely must do and have no other option we can look at it. I would however suggest against it as we have had more issues with mail not arriving and money lost using these methods than with secure electronic methods.
